Details: British Standard security - Insurance Approved Yale 5 Lever mortice Sashlock is a high security lock that is ideal for external wooden doors, the latch bolt is operated by lever handles and the dead bolt can be locked from either side of the door using the key. Approved to British standard BS 3621:2007, Police Secure by Design and is recommended by insurance providers the highest level of certification currently available making them one of the best locks for wooden doors with handles. It is easy to identify if you have a 5 Lever insurance approved mortice lock by checking the face plate, where the BS Kitemark will be clearly visible. Premium Lock Specification for Wooden Doors The 5 Lever sashlock features a hardened steel lock case with anti-drill plates to protect critical components. A strong 20mm anti-saw dead bolt with hardened steel rollers provides resistance from attack by intruders with a hack saw. For additional protection the boxed steel strike plate that is rebated into the door frame provides extra resistance against forced attack. The spring loaded latch bolt operated by lever handles on either side of the door can be easily reversed to suit the orientation of your door, whether it is hung left or right handed. The reinforced lock case is also pierced to be able to accept bolt through door furniture and has internal anti-pick mechanism to prevent lock picking. Yale Quality Keys Includes a set of 2 Yale keys and additional replacements can be ordered from a locksmith or hardware store. Installation Guide The Yale 5 Lever motice Sashlock is available in a choice of 2 decorative finishes to match your door and includes all the required screws, fittings and an easy to follow instruction sheet with installation templates. A mortice lock with a 76mm (3 inch) case is suitable for any external wooden door and has a 57mm backset (distance from edge of door to centre of key hole) and is only suitable for solid wooden external doors. There is no need to remove the lock from the door to measure what size you need. The backset size can be identified by measuring from the edge of the door to the centre of the key hole. If you are replacing an existing unit you should be able to use the holes that are already on the door but might need to remove extra material from the door to fit the reinforced components of a BS 3621 mortice lock.
