Details: The Pentair Pentek S1-BB is a whole-house sediment filter cartridge engineered for reliable 20 micron particle reduction in chlorinated municipal water systems. Its pleated, resin-impregnated cellulose media delivers significantly more filtration surface area than standard non-pleated cartridges, allowing the S1-BB to hold more dirt and last longer between changeouts while maintaining low pressure drop across the filter. Built with a polypropylene core for structural strength and polypropylene endcaps with integrated gaskets, the S1-BB provides a secure, leak-free fit in all standard Big Blue 10" x 4.5" housings and BBFS filtration systems. The sonically welded overlap seam prevents media bypass, ensuring consistent filtration performance throughout the life of the cartridge. Important: This cellulose media cartridge is designed exclusively for use with chlorinated water supplies. For non-chlorinated or untreated water sources such as private wells, use a polyester-based filter cartridge instead. Operating temperature range is 40 to 145 degrees F.
