Details: Our MacuShield Original Plus Chewable formula is a lutein, Meso-zeaxanthin and zeaxanthin eye supplement that combines all three macular carotenoids and contains vitamin B2 to help maintain normal vision. MacuShield Original Plus Chewable is a food supplement for eye health* which contains lutein (10mg), zeaxanthin (2mg) and meso-zeaxanthin (10mg), as well as Vitamin B2 which is proven to help maintain normal vision. Scientific research shows that these three nutrients are found at the back of the eye, at the macula, where they form the macular pigment (yellow colour). Meso-zeaxanthin is particularly concentrated at the centre of this pigment. The macula is a specialist parts of the eye that is responsible for detailed, central vision. Lutein and zeaxanthin can be found in fruits and dark green leafy vegetables and meso-zeaxanthin is present in some species of fish and seafood.
