- A sushi rice mixing tub handmade by Japanese craftsmen. The Japanese Sawara cypress wood material absorbs just the right amount of moisture from the rice. This ensures the sushi rice does not get soggy and achieves that desirable fluffy texture. The outer bands are sturdy and made of copper.
- Used to mix rice and vinegar when making rice for sushi. This tub can also be used for making sushi or even as a container for chirashi sushi. Moistening the tub with water before use will prevent rice from sticking to the tub.
- Sawara cypress wood produces a very pleasant aroma and will stimulate the appetite when combined with the flavor of vinegar. Furthermore, the fine grain of this wood prevents it from shrinking after drying.
