Details: This saw is made by Thomas Flinn of Sheffield England the last traditional saw and plane maker in the UK and co-branded Pax / Taytools. This mini 4" Gentleman’s Saw is the perfect saw for completing detailed work. The back is rolled solid brass and 1/2" wide by 0.160" thick. The folded brass back means the blade is held under tension offering excellent rigidity and balance. The weight of the brass back alos aids the fine cutting ability of this saw. The saw plate is 0.020" thick with just 0.004 of an" set per side for smooth and controlled cut making the overall kerf 0.028" wide. The handle is made from solid Walnut. Blade depth is 1" wide with 20 TPI. The saw plate is made from high carbon allow steel for durability and ease of sharpening. The teeth can be resharpened.
