- TUPELO HONEY: Production of this honey can only take place during a very small window of time during springtime when the tupelo trees bloom. It’s the small window of production that limits supply combined with its exceptional flavor that makes this honey so sought after.
- TASTE PROFILE: Tupelo honey has an amazing flavor profile. It has a bright and unique floral burst that dissolves easily on the tongue, and has a very pleasing finish. When tasting for the first time, folks tend to break into a wide smile and say "Wow, I never knew that honey could taste so good!" One customer called it a gift from the gods, and we would have to agree.
- SOURCED FROM: This raw unfiltered honey comes from the white tupelo trees that thrive in the many rivers, lakes and wetlands in the middle section of the Florida panhandle. The Apalachicola and Chipola river basins, which run from North to South in Gulf County, contain some of the highest concentrations of tupelo trees in the world. That means a better Honey.
- PURE HONEY: It doesn't get much purer than this. Raw Honey has for years been lauded for it's healing properties. You won't find any other ingredients in our Honey. Just raw, pure, unfiltered gold!
- SLOW TO SUGAR: Many types of raw honey will crystallize over time (also called 'sugaring'). But some honey varieties such as tupelo will resist sugaring. It all depends on the ratio of the two primary sugars in honey - fructose and glucose. This is called the F:G ratio. If there is more fructose than glucose, then it will be slow to sugar. Some bottles of tupelo honey will never sugar, even after many years. But it is important to note that 100% pure tupelo honey is impossible to find.
- FLORAL SOURCE: Tupelo honey is a rare and unique honey variety with a devoted following. Each year, from mid-April to early May, the white tupelo tree produces delicate round blossoms. Greenish-white in color, these blossoms last no more than three weeks. With bad weather, the bloom time is even shorter.
