Details: In 1996, Plumb Clean was developed to target nasty issues found in whirlpool jetted bath recirculation plumbing and air channels of blower systems. Between uses of the whirlpool or air blower system, residual water is trapped in the plumbing containing body oils, exfoliated skin, hair and soap residue. The balanced blend of surfactants combines with metal brighteners to loosen the soap scum, hard water scale, and the black flakes in the pipes. The product is formulated to break the bond of these deposits from the internal surfaces of the bath's pipes and fittings. It does a good job cleaning the exposed surfaces too! Hard water scale can build up quietly, and along with oily residues from soap, bath & body oils, emollients, sunscreens, and exfoliated skin cells become nutrients for a black flakes in the dark, wet pipes when the system has lain dormant for several days.
