Details: The Forester 33FCR is a specialized chainsaw chain, commonly referred to as a ripping chain. Unlike standard chainsaw chains, which are designed to cut across the grain of wood, ripping chains are specifically engineered to cut efficiently with the grain. This makes the 33FCR ideal for tasks such as slabbing logs, burls, and stumps, as it delivers a smooth and consistent surface when cutting parallel to the wood grain. In contrast, using a standard saw chain for parallel cuts results in dramatically reduced cutting speed and a rougher surface finish. Designed exclusively for milling purposes, the 33FCR is not intended for standard handheld chainsaw use. Forester chains feature professional-grade components, including industrial chrome-plated cutters for exceptional durability and sharpness retention, and a patented alloy steel chassis to minimize stretch during break-in. However, this chain has limited kickback reduction features and is recommended for professional use only. The Forester 33FCR can be sharpened with a 7/32" round file or a 3/16" grinding wheel.
